CAREER HIGHLIGHTS Desiree began her Makeup Career by dabbling her brushes at department stores working behind the counters, representing Prestige Makeup Companies since 1989. In those times where Makeup Artists were hard to find, especially for a special day as a Wedding or Photo shoot. During this time she learnt her creative skills by practicing on real life people and started to make a name for herself in Brisbane.
In 1999 she decided to pack her bags and move over to the U.K for 5 years where she was offered a job with Mac Cosmetics at the Kensington Flagship Store. She quickly learnt about different skin tones and was offered to join the Mac Pro Team where she was send out on jobs representing Mac Cosmetics without supervision on Productions like Music Video’s, Commercials, TV Presenters, Fashion Shoot and Runway Fashion Shows, Book Covers and Editorial photo shoots. Desiree’s career as a Makeup Artist bloomed and was well recognized for her versatility during the 5 years in London, she landed work with MTV , London Fashion Week, BBC, Harper Collins and Penguin Publishers and celebrities.
Desiree desired to expand her Makeup Technique and completed her diploma in Special Effect Makeup before she flew back to Australia in 2003.
Back in Australia she was offered her job back at MAC Brisbane where she won the Australasia MAC Creative Competition for Australia. She also had the opportunity to work on Melbourne and Sydney Fashion Weeks.
RECENT WORK Whilst working for MAC her dreams as a Makeup Artist expanded once again working on film such as * The Ruins, *Nims Island *The Mental * Narnia (The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) *Tera Nova * Unbroken * The In betweeners 2. *San Andrias *Pirates of the Caribbean, *The Railway man *Swinging Safari *Dora* Monster Problems and more.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS The highlight of makeup artist Sian Howard’s career to date is working as Key Makeup Artist on Australian feature film Broke (2016). She has done red carpet hair and makeup on TV industry stars for The Logies Red Carpet (2019, 2018), plus worked on top Australian actors including Logie-winner Claire Van Der Boom, Hollywood newcomers Luke Cosgrove and Justin Rozniak, and veterans Steve Le Marquand, Brendan Cowell and Pippa Grandison.
Having trained in SPFX and Cinemagraphic makeup on the Gold Coast under Oscar-winning makeup artist Peter Frampton (Braveheart), Sian understands what it takes to slot seamlessly into a creative team. She attained her Diploma of Cinemagraphic Makeup from the Frampton Institute in 2005 and also holds Diplomas in Training and Assessment, Screen and Media, Cosmetics, and Beauty Therapy.
RECENT WORK With over 15 years experience, Sian knows the importance of being prepared, flexible and punctual. She has an instinctive eye for detail, continuity and design which will translate into meeting the brief and exceeding the desired results for your clients. Sian has worked on Who Do You Think You Are (Warner Bros), Creek to Coast (Seven Network), The NRL Footy Show (Nine Network) and had reality contestants from My Kitchen Rules (Seven Network), Australia’s Next Top Model (Fox8) and So You Think You Can Dance (Fremantle Media) in her chair.
Sian has continued to learn personally from Australia’s best hair and makeup artists Rae Morris, Sarah Laidlaw, Penny Antuar, Mia Connor, Isabelle De Vries, Rachel Montgomery, Martin Bray, and Lorna Evans, and international artists Uzo (NARS Global Artistry Director), and Marc Reagan (Bobbi Brown Global Artistry Director). She has also represented top cosmetic companies from Mecca Brands.
With an impressive reputation in wedding makeup, Sian’s bridal work has been featured by prestigious wedding blogs, on WIN News and in Queensland Brides magazine. Formerly a respected makeup trainer at an international beauty academy, Sian also volunteered for “Look Good, Feel Better” (a valuable program for cancer patients) and is the resident makeup designer for all Coolum Theatre productions.
